Strengthen Relationships, Manage Moods, Achieve Goals
Embrace the Journey
I can help you create a more satisfying and purposeful life
I love the work that I do. Belly laughs and some heartfelt tears; grounding and soothing; skill-building, experiments, and practice—all these are the tools of my trade. Think of therapy like the showroom floor of REI—an opportunity to reflect and collect your gear for the journey.
In my practice, I collaborate with the folks looking to strengthen relationships, manage their moods and achieve their goals. I believe good therapy is a unique mix of encouragement and daring, the discomfort of growing and satisfaction of growth. Making changes can be daunting, uncomfortable. A good course of work in therapy can be helpful, healing and entirely worth the effort. The right therapist for you, at the right point in time, can help you create a more satisfying and purposeful life.
My name is Rebecca Davenport. I am a clinical social worker and psychotherapist in private practice serving clients in Austin, Texas since 1995. I have an inviting brick and mortar office with a group of esteemed colleagues in South Austin at the corner of Ben White and Banister. During the pandemic, I am meeting with all my clients remotely. Once we are able to connect in person again, I will continue to offer in-person and remote sessions bringing the best of both mediums to the work.
You can engage with my practice in a variety of ways.
- I offer psychotherapy for individuals, couples and family systems.
- I provide themed time-limited psycho-educational seminars for small groups.
- I provide clinical supervision and continuing education for social workers in Texas.
- From time to time I post supportive articles addressing the themes my clients and community are facing.
If you have more questions about me or my practice, I invite you to explore this site. The answers to many questions can found inside. From there, emailing Rebecca@MindfulChoices.net is the best way to make initial contact with me more directly.
However you’ve arrived at this crossroads in your life’s journey, please know I wish you all the best in your travels to come. Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can – rest, reflect, repeat.
Warmly,
R. Davenport LCSW, PA
“Life is an adventure, and we are all travelers—born on the road into an apparently arbitrary set of circumstances, a lottery of people, places, and resources. And we have survived.
Those random circumstances have shaped us, leaving us with baggage that may no longer be suited to the journey we now choose.
So, come and rest. Take an hour here and there to regroup, reconsider, tool up. The journey thus far may have been painfully fraught or mostly quite lovely. Any journey will be enriched through compassionate reflection, a survey of priorities and values, and the mapping of a path forward. Where do you want to go now? How and with whom would you prefer to travel?
From this crossroads, you may choose your own adventure.”
